a Brief history
Borgo Sant’Angelo, formerly the residence of the Noble Sacchi family, was built in the early 1800s by Professor Sacchi, the personal doctor to Queen Margherita of Savoy, who lived there until his death. Our family acquired it in 1984 and carried out a conservation renovation, enhancing its original architecture and historical beauty.
The property now consists of a central castle of about 1000mq with three floors, a pigeon cove tower on the top, several dependences surrounding and enclosing the perimeter of the proprety, two courtyards, a front garden . It offers accommodations for up to 18 guests, features incredible original Fresco’s and host our lifetime collection of contemporary Art and design pieces such and the Archive of the Artist Filippo Panseca.
ground floor
The ground floor of the castle is dedicated to living, dining, and entertainment.
A succession of five saloni, reflecting the typical floor plan of an 18th‑century noble residence, unfolds in sequence. Each room features original frescoed ceilings, alongside artworks, sculptures, and contemporary installations, creating a dialogue between history and art.
first floor
The entire first floor is dedicated to the sleeping quarters, offering eight beautiful bedrooms (accommodating up to 15 guests) and four bathrooms. In addition, the staff apartment includes two bedrooms and one bathroom, bringing the maximum capacity to 19 guests.
We have carefully preserved the castle’s most remarkable features, from the majestic boiseries framing the windows to the frescoed ceilings and elegant wooden beams. The interiors combine authentic antique furnishings and beds with refined contemporary design elements, creating an atmosphere that is at once warm, luxurious, and modern.
second floor
The second floor features a majestic studio with wooden floors and abundant natural light, showcasing the castle’s exposed timber beams. This level also includes a library and a living room/cinema room, offering the perfect retreat for relaxation and quiet moments.
ART
in our family, Art is an institution, a way of thinking, of living. Every angle of the castle should awaken the curiosity of your guests by the singularity of every piece or the setting of the rooms blending harmoniously contemporary style in a 19th-century setting.
Our collection of art, design objects, and family archives is an part of the living experience we offer. Like Parco dei Sesi in Pantelleria, our homes are spaces that inspire, spark creativity, and foster curiosity
For those with a creative spirit, our artist’s studio is available for workshops and immersive experiences.
